He is There

(A message from Elder Cal Gray)

I and the circumstances around me are always changing. Often, new challenges or my inability to face them on my own have left me feeling vulnerable and afraid. When I reflect on my life, I am struck by how consistent God’s care for me has been regardless of the challenges that I face. He has always been there to teach and protect me. As I have interacted with those who are older than I, I have seen how it becomes increasingly important to understand this as we grow older – a time when increasing challenge is met with decreasing strength. With this understanding, comes a sense that I have a responsibility to proclaim God’s faithfulness to the generations that follow.

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Psalm 71: 17-18
