Grace Driven Holiness

Titus 2:11-12 - “For the grace for God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and world passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,”

It doesn’t take long for anyone to realize we live in a broken world. With so much pain, turmoil and evil how is it even possible for us a Christians to live out and maintain our faith? Paul answers that with one word, grace.

Maybe this sounds too simple but the truth is God has empowered us by grace to “renounce ungodliness and worldly passions”. God will be faithful in giving you what you need to simply say ‘no’ to temptation.

God will also be faithful in giving you the grace to then say ‘yes’ to living “self-controlled, upright and godly” lives. This call to holiness is impossible for us to live out on our own strength. We need His empowering grace to overcome the temptations we live with each day and He promises to give us all we need.

So let me encourage you to ask God for His grace. Grace to strengthen, motivate and empower you to say YES to honouring Him with your life. And don’t stop asking him for more of His grace. He doesn’t get annoyed by your asking, He welcomes your requests for more of Him in your life.
